Ioannis Avgerinos, MD MSc

Dr. Ioannis Avgerinos qualified as a doctor from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece in 2012. In 2011-2012, during his undergraduate studies, he attended classes as visiting student at University of Münster, Münster, Germany. Between 2014-2016 he trained as resident in Internal Medicine. Between 2016-2017 he attended postgraduate courses in the field of diabetes mellitus. In 2018 he earned an MSc in “Medical Research Methodology”. He has been working as research fellow in the unit since 2017. His main research interests include evidence synthesis of healthcare interventions (systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and network meta-analyses). He is currently participating as co-investigator in the multistage three-year project “Patient-centred treatment to support a holistic approach towards type 2 diabetes” (funded by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes), and has collaborated in several meta-analyses conducted by the Clinical Research & Evidence-Based Medicine Unit at Aristotle University Thessaloniki.
